Rubber Ball Takes out Network! This Falls into the Believe it or Not Catagory --- There was a power outage last night, which resulted in loss of the network connections between the SGI lab, the PC lab and their respective password servers, currently located in my office. Evidently, a small rubber ball that I had sitting on the window shelf rolled off the shelf some time yesterday evening. It executed a direct hit on the toggle switch of the power strip sitting behind my desk. This power strip supported a Network Delni, which connected RED and RAT, the SGI and PC Servers to rooms 228 and 232. The result was a variety of problems, related to lack of password and group authentication. My appologies for all the problems that it caused.
